A year after the Taliban made a cakewalk entry into Kabul on the heels of US troops scrambling out in an utterly chaotic exit, Afghans face multiple existential dangers, including widespread starvation, deep impoverishment, runaway unemployment, strangling drought and rising cruel misogyny.
To get a firsthand perspective on life in Afghanistan, Mayank Chhaya Reports spoke to Mahbouba Seraj, founder of Afghan Women’s Network and a respected voice on women's rights, who has lived in Kabul since 2003, and was on a brief visit to America.
