The newly appointed Ambassador of China to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong paid a courtesy call on Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Thursday and jointly witnessed the agreement signing of Ceylon Tire Manufacturing Factory, the first-ever FDI project in Hambantota Port zone.

Youth Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of State for Finance Ajith Nivard Cabral, and Hu Wei, Political Counselor of the Embassy were also present.

Ambassador Qi conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes from Chinese leaders to Prime Minister and congratulated him on his 75th birthday, the Chinese Embassy said in a statement.
