Sri Lanka's foreign ministry has taken steps to inform all relevant sectors that decision by the United States to impose a travel ban on Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva was not justified, Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said in Parliament yesterday (23).

The Minister said that even the US State Department has been informed about this and that it was the members of the previous government who created such a situation for the brave war commanders.

Minister Dinesh Gunawardena stated this in response to a question raised by the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa in parliament Friday.
