Can’t take life seriously

Hold the hand of Silence

Can’t take life seriously

Hold the hand of Silence
And, let wisdom overflow,
Then, choose to follow the river
Or defy, and upstream go

Staying brave is  essential
To face life’s many challenges,
Bravado must be avoided
Too risky are deep finesses.

There’s a general order of things
And, it’s generally chaotic,
There’s also the opportune moment
That’s Greek and it’s kairotic.

Hope you got the drift of things
You know, the way things pan out
You’re generally fried, then soothingly dried
Till you begin to holler and shout.

Life’s a circus, friends, with rings all around
On your fingers or in the palms of your hands,
If your wizardry is palmistry, diamonds are for you
Else, the Trapeze is the one that with you always stands.

I know that I’m a clown and you the Man about town
My forehead uncreased, no lines, no frown
While, you the wise guy with the grey cells all
Weighed down by numbers and ready to fall.

The Sun’s gone and set somewhere
Maybe in Hades,
Maybe the brilliant and gallant Orb
Has gone to meet the ladies

Maybe Hades ain’t locked down
Too fat the Virus, maybe,
Who knows who the Sun is with tonight
Could be the Virus or Iris, maybe.

All a bit of fun, folks, in this inclement weather
Smiles so few and so far apart,
Whatever else you now plan to do
Pl do but, do not lose your heart.

Too many heartthrobs around
That we once used to meet,
All we get now, night or day
Owls and bats to greet.

Let’s each make a promise
Just one a day,
You will say something funny
Or, laugh anyway.

Amen
