The Cycle of Life
The ferocity of the good ol’ sun
The serenity of the moon,
The ferocity of the good ol’ sun
The serenity of the moon,
One makes it very difficult to run,
The other makes you swoon.
You can beat the cold with the sun,
The moon takes the heat away,
Winter then is just great fun
And summer nights make you sway.
The moon lights up a dark earth
As the sun goes to sleep,
And when it’s time for a new birth
The moon starts to weep.
Nothing’s prettier than a setting sun,
And the rising of the moon;
One tells you when the day is done
The other is gone too soon.
This then is the cycle of life,
Birth and death in Nature,
Always on a razor’s edge –
That’s true of every creature.
Why then is there a fear of death,
When mortality’s for real?
Breathe easy, or just hold your breath,
Life is pretty surreal.
