Pakistan will join hands with Turkey, Palestine, Sudan to take a united stance on the issue of Palestine at the upcoming emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), scheduled for Thursday.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s foreign minister, said the country will join hands with these countries for a united stance in the UNGA. On Tuesday, he also met with his Turkey counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ankara to discuss the issue of Palestine. 

Both Pakistan and Turkey, have been urging Muslim countries to take a united approach to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.

This intense conflict between Israel and the Palestinian political-militant group Hamas has now entered into the second week, with no de-escalation. More than 200 Palestinians have been killed as the result of Israeli actions. On the other hand, Hamas has so far fired over 3100 rockets on Israel. 
 
UNGA President Volkan Bozkir has called an emergency session on Thursday to discuss “the situation in the Middle East” and the “question of Palestine”. The session was requested by Algeria and Niger, the chairs of OIC and Arab group.
