Nepal will receive direct vaccines from the United States government which has recently announced to donate 7 million vaccines to South and Southeast Asian countries. Under the first phase of donation, the US will donate 25 million vaccines to other countries.

Randy Berry, the US ambassador to Nepal, informed that Nepal will be among the countries to receive direct vaccine donations from the United States. Taking to Twitter, he said, "I join my fellow Americans and all friends of Nepal in celebrating the White House announcement." 

The White House, on Thursday, released a statement in which the Biden-Harris administration has unveiled its strategy for global vaccine sharing along with an allocation plan. 

"Approximately 7 million for Asia to the following countries and entities: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, and the Pacific Islands," according to the fact-sheet.

However, details regarding the vaccine’s distribution have yet not been disclosed.
