Colombo: The number of total confirmed COVID-19 coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka has risen to 460 according to the Health Promotion Bureau report released at 11 pm Saturday 

Health Ministry has confirmed that 40 new coronavirus patients have been identified in the last 24 hours bringing the total active patients receiving treatment at hospitals to 407 while 247 individuals are currently under investigation in hospitals.

Seven of the new cases confirmed today were from the Kandakadu Quarantine Center and one of them was a 12-year-old boy from the cluster found at Bandaranaike Mawatha, Colombo 12.

Four more naval personnel of the Welisara Naval base were found to be COVID-19 positive and another patient was reported from Monaragala Hospital.

Seven patients have died and 118 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
