Colombo: Sri Lanka reported 20 new cases Tuesday, raising the total number of people contracted the coronavirus to 771, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report released at 11:20 pm Tuesday, 549 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 145 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

With the death of a 52-year-old female coronavirus positive patient today, Sri Lanka reported the ninth death from the COVID-19, while 213 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January and discharged last month, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
