Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases increase to 1469 with 150 new cases Wednesday

Colombo: Sri Lanka recorded its highest daily total of 150 new COVID-19 cases yesterday raising the total number of coronavirus patients reported to 1469, the Health Ministry reported.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report updated at 11:55 pm Wednesday, 727 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 75 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Ten patients have died while 732 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 59,165PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to May 27, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
