A new Technical Advisory Committee for cricket has been appointed by Sri Lanka's Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa, the local media reported.

Former Sri Lanka cricket great Aravinda de Silva has been appointed as the chairman of the newly appointed four-member committee.

Former Sri Lanka cricketers Roshan Mahanama, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Kumar Sangakkara are the remaining members of the committee.

The Technical Advisory Committee has been tasked with providing advise on the development of the sport to the sports minister and the president of Sri Lanka Cricket, NewsWire said.
