Raoof Hasan, Founder Chief Executive Regional Peace Institute, Islamabad, and former special adviser to ex PM Imran Khan, speaks with Mayank Chhaya | SAM Conversation
As a besieged Imran Khan watches the rise of a new political party, Istehkam-e-Pakistan, and hops around the country to secure bails for many of the 150 cases filed against him, the former prime minister continues to wage a grave existential campaign. Although on the face of it much of the street ferment in the aftermath of his arrest on May 9 has subsided, the political and cultural tensions have merely shifted a level deeper in a country also facing a near terminal economic crisis. To understand how the situation is unfolding in the country, Mayank Chhaya Reports spoke to Raoof Hasan, founder and chief executive of the Regional Peace Institute, Islamabad as well as a former special adviser to Khan. He is also the Central Information Secretary of the party.
