Hindu traders and shopkeepers in the Wadh market of Pakistan's Khuzdar district have been receiving threats from unknown men following the assassination of a businessman.

Ashok Kumar was murdered on Monday after assailants opened fire at him, while he was at his shop in the Wadh market, reports The Express Tribune.

Sources told the newspaper unidentified men affixed pamphlets in the market and on signboards of the National Highway on Saturday in which they threatened the local Hindu traders of serious consequences if they allowed female customers to enter in their shops.

The pamphlets were posted in the town after the assassination of Kumar, who was reportedly killed after refusing to pay extortion money five days ago, IBNS said quoting the newspaper.

The minority community complained that the process of investigation initiated by the administration and the police was slow and the murderers were at large.

Representatives of the trader association and workers of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) blocked the National Highway on Saturday to protest against the pace of investigation into the incident. (SAM)
