Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers have intensified their draconian anti-women campaign by ordering an indefinite ban on university education for them.

Sixteen months after the Taliban made a cakewalk entry into Kabul in the face of a disastrous US withdrawal from Afghanistan after nearly 20 years, Afghan women have to suffer the worst anti-women impulses of the rulers.

Mahbouba Seraj, one of Afghanistan's most prominent women's rights activists, had said at a recent human rights conference in Geneva that her country's girls and women are "being erased' from public life. With the latest draconian action by the Taliban, that approach has become even worse.
