Pakistan Army will make all possible efforts towards the achievement of enduring peace for sustainable socio-economic development of Balochistan and terrorists will not be allowed to destabilize the country's largest province, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan Army chief said during a visit to a corp headquarters in the country’s restrive province.

The statement comes at a time when the region has been witnessing an uptick in violence, including the killings of four pararamilitary soldiers recently. During the visit on Tuesday, Gen Bajwa also reviewed the progress of projects that security forces have been undertaking to support the Balochistan government, the ISPR, the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement.

“Terrorists won’t be allowed to destabilize peace efforts,” Gen will Bajwa was quoted as saying in the statement released by the ISPR. He also said that armed forces are taking all efforts to assist the local government in maintaining law and order.

Tahreek-e-Taliban, the most prominent anti-Pakistan militant group, has recently shown signs of having significant presence in Balochistan that is bordered by both Iran and Afghanistan.
