Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has exchanged views on the raging COVID-19 pandemic and other health and development issues with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

The two talked on the polio eradication campaign as well as climate change during a telephonic conversation on Wednesday, Tribune reported.

Referring to his recent missive to Gates on climate change, Khan apprised him of Pakistan’s flagship initiatives, including the 10 billion tree tsunami initiative.

Gates acknowledged Pakistan’s commitment to address the climate change problem.

While emphasising that food systems are particularly vulnerable to climate change, he suggested global leaders prioritise investments in agricultural research for adaptation, the report said.

The prime minister commended the American business tycoon for the work of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for fighting poverty, combating the COVID-19 pandemic and inequalities around the world.
