Mahathir Mohammad, former Malaysian prime minister, dialed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, and the duo discussed the Palestinian issue over call, reported Geo TV.

In a statement, released by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Office, the two leaders expressed support for the people of Palestine, and also sympathized with “innocent and defenseless” Palestinians.

Khan also condemned the Israeli action at the Al Aqsa mosque, and airstrikes on Gaza strip, the area controlled by Hamas militants.

During the call, the two leaders underscored the need for the international community to take “urgent steps” to halt ongoing attacks, protect the civilians and facilitate a just solution based on UN resolution and two-state vision.
