Zambia, a landlocked country in south-central Africa, has expressed interest in seeking agricultural expertise from Bangladesh for increasing its productivity, reported The Daily Star. 

Bangladesh Army Chief General Mohammad Aziz, who is on an official visit to the southern African nation, was meeting with Zambian Acting Defence Minister Wezi Lukhele when the latter showed interest.

Aziz is visiting the nation to boost defense ties and has also discussed other bilateral issues.

Gen Aziz also expressed his interest to intensify training activities with the Zambian Army and also conducting Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) programs especially in the field of UN peacekeeping, anti-terrorism activities, disaster management, etc. 

He also raised the proposal of issuing an on-arrival visa to the military personnel of Bangladesh Armed Forces, and Gen Sikazwe of the Zambian Army assured that he will make efforts to get it approved from the concerned ministry at the earliest.
