Another Chinese plane carrying medical aid for Sri Lanka arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake Friday evening.

China Eastern Airlines flight MU231 with 20,000 Test kits, 10,000 N95 masks, 100,000 Surgical Masks, 10,000 PPE Coverall, 1,000 Goggles & 50,000 Surgical Gloves donated by China to Sri Lanka has arrived at BIA at 18:58, the Chinese Embassy in Colombo tweeted.

The Embassy said 196 people from Sri Lanka Overseas Chinese Association including retired elders and low-income families, collectively purchased 1,050 PPE gowns and 38,000 surgical masks from China and donated to Sri Lanka.

It said the MU231 arrived with no passengers took 172 guests on its return flight to Shanghai.

The Embassy noted that for the last 3 months not a single case in Sri Lanka was infected by Chinese or any one returned from China.
