The UK High Commission in Dhaka has warned Bangladeshi nationals of fake employment offers in the United Kingdom and urged people to beware of such offers originating from fake websites and emails that don’t exist.

According to a report in The Dhaka Tribune, the UK mission in Bangladesh released a statement last week and said they are witnessing an increased number of cases, where scammers are forging documents, some even claiming to be issued by the UK home office, and other government departments.

Scammers demand payments against issuing work permits and visa documents from their targets, the statement stated. They also advertise fake employment offers or directly contact potential targets.

The British High C0mmission clarified the UK has fees such as ‘employment fee’ as claimed by scammers. It also asked people to report these incidents to their nearest police station and the commission if anyone seeks their personal information through emails or from other platforms.
