COVID-19: 915 New Cases Reported in Afghanistan

Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health reported 915 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,763 samples tested in the last 24 hours, which is the highest daily count so far. The total accumulated cases in the country are 18,969

Kabul: Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health reported 915 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,763 samples tested in the last 24 hours, which is the highest daily count so far. The total accumulated cases in the country are 18,969.
 
The ministry reported nine COVID-19 deaths and 178 recoveries in the last 24 hours, amid fears that much higher instances of infection are not being reported.
 
Kabul, with 423 new cases of the coronavirus, was on the top of the list, followed by Herat (201), Balkh (116), Kunduz (29), Kunar (23), Farah (21), Sar-e-Pul (21), Kandahar (21), Helmand (20), Samangan (15), Paktia (11), Nangarhar (7), Wardak (4), and Laghman (3).
 
Also, nine deaths were reported in Herat (2), Balkh (3), Samangan (2) and Kunduz (2).
 
The 178 recovered cases were reported in Kabul (104), Herat (58), Balkh (1), Badghis (5), Wardak (1), Samangan (1), Faryab (3), Kunar (1), Helmand (1) and Sar-e-Pul (3).
 
The data by the ministry shows that so far 45,139 samples have been tested.
 
The number of active cases is 16,897, according to the ministry, and 19 patients are in severe condition.
 
The total number of recovered cases is 1,763 and total COVID-19 deaths are 309, the data shows.
