Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been summoned again to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating the incident of political victimization on September 4 and 7.

The summons was issued following two complaints lodged with the Presidential Commission by former Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Affairs Dr. Nihal Jayatilleka and former Director-General of the Divi Neguma Department RKKA Jayasinghe.

The PCoI earlier on Aug 12th issued summons to the former Prime Minister Wickremesinghe and 15 other respondents including two party leaders and five former ministers to appear before the Commission today (Aug 21) in connection with a complaint lodged by former Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development Dr. Jayatilleka.

Accordingly, former Ministers Mangala Samaraweera, Malik Samarawickrema and Member of Parliament Attorney-at-Law M.A. Sumanthiran appeared before the Presidential Commission today.

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe did not appear before the commission today and was re-issued notice to appear before the Commission on September 4th following a notice requesting another date.
