A Bangladeshi man died and two others were injured after being stabbed with a screwdriver in a brawl with some compatriots in Malaysia’s Banting, Dhaka tribune reported.

Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Azizan Tukiman said the 44 year old victim, identified as Babu, died on the spot after sustaining stab injuries in the chest at a workers’ dormitory in Mahkota Industrial Park,

The two wounded had stomach injures.

“The two suspects fled the scene after stabbing the victims,” Tukiman said in a statement.

Police investigation revealed that the deceased and the suspects were among 30 foreign workers of a paper mill who tested positive for Covid-19 and were undergoing quarantine at a location not far from the dormitory.

The brawl started after the suspects had removed the victim’s belonging from the dormitory without his consent.

“During the brawl, one of the suspects took a screwdriver and stabbed the victim before stabbing his friends using the same weapon,” he said.

On their arrest, both the suspects admitted to having a fight with the victim and stabbing him with a screwdriver.
