The salary of cricketers under the Bangladesh Cricket Board central contract will go up by 10 to 20 percent.

BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan told the media about the salary hike on Thursday after the country’s apex body of the game decided on the fresh contract in its 10th board meeting.

The cricket operations panel is finalizing the terms of the contract by sitting with the cricketers, Dhaka Tribune reported.

One of the 30 demands placed by the cricketers to the BCB in 2019 was to increase the number of contracted cricketers to 30.

Though the salary was increased, the board did not meet the demand of increasing the number of contracted players.

In the latest meeting, the board has discussed signing 18 to 20 cricketers.
