Impatience they say, now holds sway
Impatience will bring forth gains,
Have we forgotten what speed does ?
Breakneck guarantees severe pains.

Unshackled greed and ruthless ambition
Have never brought lasting fulfillment
For missing therein is the seed of compassion
And trampling is never an enjoyment.

Patience was a virtue not so long ago
For those who tout ‘impatience’ today,
Look around and see how broken is family
When brother is ready to a brother, slay.

Where is the joy of togetherness ? 
Tell us Great leaders of this new world,
From north to south and east to west
When missiles and invectives are hurled.

Camaraderie was a nice long word
With friendliness and trust supreme
And both of these always need time for sure
Or else, it’s nightmares not dream.

Think again, O protagonists of speed
Think of the card game called patience,
Many of us were taught to play this game
To suppress within us our ‘impatience’.
