Fill the cup before you bring it

Blasphemously Yours

Fill the cup before you bring it
With the joys of night and day,
O Tavern- keeper n the skies
Will you walk with me all the way.

Do not leave me half- way done
Else, I forget you one fateful day,
Wayward then, my steps and more
I may not hear what you, then, say.

You have many things to do, I guess
Your drooping shoulders, I know not why,
No wonder the world’s back is bent
And, hunchbacked is the blue sky.

May I ask you, blasphemously
What keeps you from doing things,
Like saving your planet, your Humanity
While the tolling bell, incessantly, rings.

I can see you smirk and wink too
At Man’s sheer audacity,
Gods on Earth, O Lord in Heaven
Are gods of clay,You the Potter
Why then, do You make them this way?

Your wrath, your retribution are well known
But what can they do, those who do not see,
Blind ambition is raw, indeed
Just clutching at the straws of Destiny.
