A tourist who was staying at a guesthouse in Maafushi of Kaafu Atoll tested positive for coronavirus in the Maldives, the Sun reported. 

Nasheeda Adam, the vice president of Maafushi council, however, refused to divulge the nationality of the infected tourist. The couple has been shifted to an isolation room in the guesthouse. 

Maldives opened its borders for tourists on June 15 this year and allowed the guesthouses in residential islands to open on October 15.
