Colombo: Sri Lanka reported 6 new cases late Monday, raising the total number of people contracted the coronavirus to 869, the Health Ministry said.

The Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe says that all the clusters of COVID-19 patients have been completely controlled but need to be attentive to prevent further spread of the pandemic.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report released at 7 am Tuesday, 517 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 114 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Nine patients have died while 343 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January and discharged last month, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
