Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has disclosed that a select committee will propose to amend the election laws, including granting voting rights to Sri Lankans living abroad.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has considered this at a discussion held with Elections Commission officials at Temple Trees Friday to discuss the strategic plans of the Elections Commission.

Expressing his views, the Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya has stated that it is imperative that the election laws be amended in accordance with the 'Strategic Plan of the Election Commission 2020-2024'.
