COVID vaccine will be given to members of health and defense services first in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa says that the first consignment of Covid vaccines provided free of charge by the Government of India will be brought to Sri Lanka on Wednesday, the 27th of January.

Accordingly, steps will be taken to commence the injection of this first stock of vaccines to the members of the Health and Defense Services on the next day (28).

Sri Lanka will receive a consignment of 600,000 vials of AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccines free of charge from India.
