Another 320 Sri Lankans, who had not been able to return to Sri Lanka from India due to the coronavirus pandemic, arrived in the country today from Chennai by a Sri Lankan flight

Colombo: Another 320 Sri Lankans, who had not been able to return to Sri Lanka from India due to the coronavirus pandemic, arrived in the country today from Chennai by a Sri Lankan flight.

They all were taken to Army-managed Quarantine Centers (QCs) for quarantine process, a Media statement of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) issued on Tuesday (12) stated.

Meanwhile, 121 individuals who underwent quarantining at tri service-managed Punani (50), Pompeimadu (32 ) Hotel Dolphin (11) and Nachchikuda (28) Quarantine Centers returned home with Quarantine Certificates after conducting PCR tests on them.

By today (12), a total of 7,515 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed Quarantine Centers have left for their homes, the NOCPOC said.

As of now, 3701 persons are still in quarantine in 37 island-wide QCs, run by tri services.

By today sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stood at 428 in total. Of them, 41 after recovery and PCR tests were discharged. A group of 387 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement added.
