Bangladesh has offered to rush emergency medicines and medical equipment to India, where COVID-19 cases have shot up to over 18 million.

The supply will include 10,000 anti-viral vials, 30,000 PPE kits, and several thousand zinc, calcium, vitamin C and other necessary tablets, the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Bangladesh will send further aid, if necessary, according to the statement.

Bangladesh has already shut its borders with India to avoid further cross-border transmission of the viral disease that has engulfed India.
