The Maldives on Monday registered 137 positive cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 129 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ region while 8 cases were detected from among the atolls. The new cases are of 96 locals and 41 foreigners, raising the total number of infections to 7,804.

HPA also announced 119 recoveries on Monday, increasing the total number of recoveries to 5,155. While 28 deaths have been recorded to date, the number of active cases is 2,615. Out of these, 172 people are currently receiving treatment at hospitals.
