US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will be on a two-day visit to India July 27-28. Blinken is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar during his two-day visit, ANI news agency was quoted as saying. 

Jaishankar and Blinken have already met thrice in the span of last year. After US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin's visit to India, this will be the second high-profile visit of a member of the Biden administration.

The US had lent support to India when it was grappling with the deadly second wave of coronavirus, The Biden administration intervened to expedite procurement of raw material for Indian vaccine makers and had sent ventilators and other emergency medical equipment.

The deteriorating security scenario in Afghanistan and the Indo-Pacific dynamics are expected to figure high on the agenda (SAM)
