India recorded yet another spike in deaths due to COVID-19 as 4454 people succumbed to the virus.

With the fresh deaths, the death toll due to the disease now touched the grim 300,000 mark in just over a year of the disease hitting the country, IBNS said. 

The country has so far recorded 303720 COVID-19 deaths.

India reported  222,315 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

There are 2.72 active cases in a country of 1.36 billion people.
