In a statement released by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany said it would invest an overall amount of USD $281.52 million in Afghanistan for financial and economic cooperation in 2020.

With this announcement, Germany has completed what it had pledged at 2016 Brussel to Afghanistan- a total of $504.39 per year. Apart from that, the German Federal Ministry will directly provide assistance to THE landlocked country through NGOs.

In the upcoming Geneva Conference, the Afghan government would further ask the international community for continuation of economic and other assistance to Afghanistan.
