In the last two days, Nepal reported more recoveries than daily infections. However, the daily infection count still remains high, around 6700, said The Himalayan Times.

7226 people recovered from the Covid-18 on Thursday while it recorded 6731 fresh cases in the same period. The total active case count, as such, stands at 116,476 while the country's coronavirus caseload has reached 542,256.

The cases in its capital, Kathmandu Valley, have also come down significantly. Until a week ago, the city alone was reporting half of the total cases of Nepal. On Thursday, it reported 1738 cases.

Authorities had imposed several restrictions after the Covid situation went horrible in Nepal. Most international organizations, operating in Nepal, were asked to divert up to 15 percent of their resources to Covid management in the country.

The government also sought assistance from international partners to manage the Covid-19 crisis. As hospitals in the country started facing an oxygen crisis, China rushed 20,000 oxygen cylinders to Nepal.
