Sri Lanka's Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has said that there is no connection between the relief and assistance provided by India to Sri Lanka and the amendments to the Constitution.

The minister also said that a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed during the recent video conference between Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a media briefing held at the Government Information Department Monday (28), Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa briefed the Indian Premier that the people of Sri Lanka had given a huge mandate to the government to serve all races equally during the last Presidential and General Elections and that the necessary environment would be created for all races to work in unity and cooperation.
