The provincial assembly of Province 5 gave its unanimous approval to a proposal naming the province officially as Lumbini whose headquarter will be in Deng.

The decision on permanent headquarters came through a division of votes amid the protest by opposition members.

Butwal, which is the province’s capital, will not be its government headquarters,  thus making Lumbini the first province to have its headquarters different from its capital.
