Afghanistan has reported 62 new COVID-19 cases, while two fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,469, health officials said.

So far, 113,020 samples have been tested in government centres and there are 5,034 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.

The cumulative number of total cases is now 39,548 and the total number of recoveries is 33,045, tolo news reported.

The new cases were reported in Herat 42, Kabul 4, Bamiyan 2, Baghlan 1, Daikundi 5, Badakhshan 3, Nimruz 4 and Zabul 1, provinces.
