World football's governing body, FIFA, released second and third instalments of compensation to Bangladesh midfielder Masuk Mia Jonny under the club protection scheme.

FIFA released a total of 13,885 euros, approximately Tk 13.5 lakh for Jonny, who sustained an ACL injury during a practice session ahead of World Cup qualifying tie against Afghanistan in September last year.

The Bashundhara Kings midfielder underwent surgery in October last year and has been out of football since then.

FIFA had, in February, released the first instalment worth nearly Tk 5 lakh and released the second and third instalments of 9613 euros together, BFF competitions manager Zaber Bin Taher Ansari confirmed today.

FIFA had earlier given Tk 1.8 lakh compensation to another Bangladeshi midfielder, Atiqur Rahman Fahad, in 2016 under the same scheme.
