The Taliban’s stranglehold on Afghan women’s civil liberties continues with access to work, travel and health care being severely restricted if they are unmarried or without a male guardian, according to a United Nations report. The mountainous country also has had no snow so far this winter and that could have a profound impact on agriculture because of water scarcity. Mayank Chhaya Reports spoke to the well-known Afghan women and children’s rights campaigner Mahbouba Seraj in Kabul, who said the lack of snow could be devastating for the country.
