The Maldivian Foreign Ministry has facilitated the delivery of care packages to nine Maldivian students in Cuba.
Most of the Maldivian students in Cuba are medical students.
Foreign Ministry said it a statement on Thursday that the care packages were delivered as part of efforts to assist Maldivian students in countries where access to essential products are limited due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Families of the students in Cuba were allowed to prepare care packages weighing 20 kilos each.
Foreign Ministry said the care packages were delivered with the assistance of the Sri Lankan government, following extensive discussions between the Maldivian High Commission in Colombo and the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry.
