India, Myanmar, Bangladesh to start gas project

DHAKA: India, Myanmar and Bangladesh are starting a gas pipeline project, Xinhua reports.

The energy ministers of the three countries will meet in Yangon in January to sign the project. Bangladesh and India will hold a bilateral before finalising the deal to sort out the terms and conditions, a top official of energy ministry here said.

The pipeline, which will start in Myanmar, will enter Bangladesh's Brahmanbaria along its eastern border from the Indian state of Tripura before crossing into the Indian state of West Bengal through the Rajshahi district over Bangladesh's western border.
