Bodies of 13 slain troops found in Pakistan: report

Islamabad, January 30: Authorities in Pakistan Wednesday found the bodies of 13 soldiers who were seized by the Islamic militants six days ago in the country's North-West Frontier Province, the Aaj news channel reported.

Ten of the killed troops were captured Friday when the government forces launched an offensive in the area to recover four trucks carrying ammunition that pro-Taliban rebels had seized the day before.

Three other soldiers were abducted during the hijacking of the ammunition vehicles.

It was believed that the militants killed the security personnel before their retreat following the military operation Sunday. All 13 bodies have been moved to the Combined Military Hospital in Kohat in the province, the news channel reported.

However, Pakistan military's Inter Services Public Relations refused to comment on the report. "We can neither confirm it nor deny it," a senior official said.
